JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)

He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. (Read: Jose Rizal's Contribution)

As a political figure, José Rizal was the founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan. He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, and would only support "violent means" as a last resort. (Wikipedia)

ANDRÉS BONIFACIO y de Castro (30 November 1863 – 10 May 1897)

He was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary. He is often called "the father of the Philippine Revolution". Bonifacio was a founder and later Supremo ("supreme leader") of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Philippine Revolution.

He is considered a de facto national hero of the Philippines, and is also considered by some Filipino historians to be the first President, but he is not officially recognized as such. (Wikipedia)

EMILIO AGUINALDO y Famy (22 March 1869 – 6 February 1964)

He was a Filipino general, politician, and independence leader. He had an instrumental role during the Philippines' revolution against Spain, and the subsequent Philippine–American War or War of Philippine Independence that resisted American occupation ... (continue reading)

Aguinaldo became the Philippines' first president. He was also the youngest (at age 28) to have become the country's president, the longest-lived former president (having survived to age 94) and the president to have outlived the most number of successors. (Wikipedia)

For me, the best fitting to be regarded as the Philippine National Hero is Dr. Jose Rizal, because he displayed unconditional love for his country by offering his life for the freedom of Filipinoes under the Spanish rule. He fought for reforms through his writings instead of through a "Violent Revolution".

Among the three, I would say that Andres Bonifacio should be the Philippine National Hero because he was the one who put the idea of freedom into action.

For me, the Philippine National Hero should still be Dr. Jose Rizal because he is intelligent, influential, brave and educated man. He awakened Filipinos' awareness through his works and writings. He used pen and not a sword to fight against Spanish colonial rule for the sake of our countrymen.

For me, Dr. Jose Rizal is the greatest Philippine national hero because he fought for freedom in our country in a silent but powerful way. And he had a great acts of nationalism through peaceful attack. He had a great love for Filipino people and the country.

because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. Instead he used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos ...he fought for freedom in a silent but powerful way. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays. Jose Rizal was an ideal candidate, favourable to the American occupiers since he was dead, and non-violent - both favourable qualities which, if emulated by Filipinos, would not threaten the American rule or change the status quo of the occuppiers of Philippine islands. Others present him as a man of contradictions,He pivots between fear and hope, between faith and despair a soul that dreads the revolution although deep down desires it.

i choose jose rizal because he use his knowledge to give a freedom to all the filipino and he use his novel to give hope to everyone. how about you who is your national hero??

i choose jose rizal because he use his knowledge to give a freedom to all the filipino and he use his novel to give hope to everyone. how about you who is your national hero??

It should be Bonifacio because he fought to achieve freedom for the Philippines. The revolution was well-planned. We will not be free from the colonial rule if he did not put it in action.

I agree that Dr. Jose Rizal still be the Philippine National Hero because he fight for our Freedom from Spanish colonization and he Died for our country. he deserved to be our Philippine National Hero.

i disagree that dr. jose rizal should be the philippine national hero bec. Emilio aguinaldo also fought for our freedom not only for the spanish colony but also in american colony. .

For me,Dr Jose Rizal is the best suitable to be a Philippine National Hero because he is a brave man. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays and articles rather than through the use of force or aggression. He was humble, aggressive for reforms through his writings instead of through a revolution. He used his intelligence, talents and skills in a more peaceful way rather than the aggressive way.

I don't agree that Dr. Jose Rizal should still the Phil. National Hero.. I chose Bonifacio. Because of Bonifacio he organized the secret Society the KKK (Kataas-taasang, kagalang galang katipunan ng mga anak ng Bayan) which rise in armed revolt against the spanish colonial power and to win freedom and independence for the country. without the revolution of Andres Bonifacio there would be no red sun with 8 shining yellow rays in the Philippine National Flag. katipunan untied the provinces and spread the message of independence and freedom.

I think Jose Rizal should be the Philippine National Hero because, he possess all the characteristics a good hero should have. He's smart, responsible and most of all he has sacrificed himself for his love for the country.

I choose Andres Bonifacio as the Philippine National hero because despite of poor background, he still managed to fight for the right of the Filipinos.

I agree that Jose Rizal still be our National Hero because he showed how he Love and cared for our country. and he fought our freedom under Spanish rule. and he Think first our country than himself.

it should be Andres Bonifacio "the father of the Philippine Revolution". He fought against the spanish colonial rule for the independence of our country. without revolution, we are still under the colonizers.

Who should be the Philippine National Hero? For me, I would say it should be Dr. Jose Rizal, because he is an intelligent man that thought of a way to make Filipinos wake up and face reality to fight for their freedom. He made use of his knowledge and skills and not use violence in the fight against the colonizers. So the hero for me is Dr. Jose Rizal.

For me, the Philippine National Hero would be Dr. Jose Rizal because he used his knowledge to fight for the democracy without forcing or using aggression.

Pen is mightier than a sword. He is rational for using his writings to impugn the inhumane of Spaniards. In spite of knowing that he will be convicted or killed because of his writings, he still continue his writings to open the minds of his fellow Filipinos. Unfortunately, he was caught, suffered and punished by the spaniards and called him Erehe and Filibustero. Nevertheless, his unselfishness remain that he sacrifice himself to gain the democracy of the Filipinos. He also wants to educate the youth rather than teaching them how to use guns and swords. He promotes a diplomatic settlement that’s why he deserved to be our national hero.

For me it should be Andres Bonifacio, because he is a true man that fought for the freedom of our country. He is a brave man to sacrifice his life to gain freedom.

Andres Bonifacio, because he fought , struggled and sacrificed his life to gain the country's and our countrymens freedom.

For me, it should still be Dr. Jose Rizal because he has so many contributions that helps our countrymen to escaped from the Spanish colonial rule even though there's no action made. He still be able to fight through his writings that opened the minds of our countrymen.

I choose Andress bonifacio as our National Hero.Like Rizal,Bonifacio at first advocated peaceful means towards reform but he realized that freedom and independence could be won only through force.Bonifacio was intellectual impassioned by the need to change in our system not merely by writing but also by acting on it.Because of his actual participation in KKK, bonifacio was able to organized thousand katipuneros in the revolution that ended the regime of Spanish rule and it led towards our independence.

Andres Bonifacio should be the national hero. Wala siyang ibang hinangad kundi makamit ang katarungan at kapayapaan para sa mga Pilipino, kahit kapalit pa nun ang sarili nyang buhay.

Jose Rizal must be "the national hero" because he did not advocate for armed struggle. He is the epitome of the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword." He was the one who was able to stir people's inner spirit. He is a hero in silent but powerful way.

No problem cannot be solved by calmly conversation. Dr. Jose Rizal proved it so, He uses his talent in writing many novels and poems instead of using violence. He fought the Spaniards by peaceful way with accordance with his advocate that "Pen is mightier than the sword", Rizal didn't want to waste lives of people in order to liberate the Philippines. The title of being our Philippine National Hero is still in Rizal's honor.

I choose Dr. Jose Rizal, why? Because being a hero is not about who is using a weapon to achieve freedom but then, a hero is the one who fights from the colonist by using his knowledge or intelligence in writing. He showed his love to his nation in a silent but in a powerful way. Now, he stands as inspiration especially to the youth.

For me, Dr. Jose Rizal is our Philippine national hero. because, he did his things smoothly and without blood shed. He did not used guns or sword to fight the Spaniards. He think about the sake of the others not just for himself.

Pro, i agree that Dr. Jose Rizal should be our National hero. A true hero doesn't necessarily mean that you should form a revolution and shed blood to express your love for the country. What Rizal did was a heroic act in forms of writing. He opened the minds of millions of Filipinos that we are being enslaved by the colonizers. Through that we gained our freedom.

I agree, because Rizal also uses the peaceful way against the Spain. It's a better way to use reform, which is peaceful, harmful into Spain and Philippines rather than a revolution that make us suffer.

I'm not offending you or what. Yes. Dr. Jose P. Rizal deserves to be our national hero, as pertaining to what you've said, he is the epitome of the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword." He wakes up Filipino's nationalism so we can fight for our independence. And so he did. But Andres Bonifacio is the most deserving. Because even though he is fighting by revolution, it helped alot. Without the revolution, which the Katipunan espoused, there would be no red sun with eight shining yellow rays in the Philippine national flag.

For me it would be better if Andres Bonifacio is our Philippine National Hero simply because he have a characteristics that a revolutionist have.He have that iron fist that can fight Spanish government wayback then.

I think it the Philippine National Hero should still be Dr. Jose Rizal... because aside from using his pen to fight the Spaniards without bloodshed, his works opened the eyes of many Filipinos... Rizal also founded the La Liga Filipina, which led to the founding of the Katipunan...

Sya ay matalino at palaban (base on EL PRESIDENTE).

I agree with that. Dr. Jose Rizal showed his love to all the Filipinos. It is not about on how you fought and used deadly weapon but ofcourse, it is about on how you inspired what he did in our country.

Based on my personal opinion i would like that our hero should be Andres Bonifacio. Why? because he is a fighter, leader of Katipunan that wants to fight with resilient and to unleashed our freedom from Spaniards.

I agree that bonifacio should be our national hero for he faced the dangers in the field unlike rizal whose participation is on the pen and papers. Yes, Rizal is considered as the ignitor for many that read his writings but bonifacio led the hundreds to make actions that could realistically can make big blows against the spaniards. Bonifacio did the most sacrifice compared to anyone during that time and that made me think that Andres Bonifacio should be hailed as our national hero.

Rizal is should be considered a national hero due the suggestion of our own president. He was killed unjustly and believed that our society was the perfect society.Jose Rizal became the Philippine national hero because he fought for freedom in a silent but powerful way. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays and

.

Because, He became a national hero of the Philippines as a reformist who advocated peacefully for liberty rather than through violent means.

Rizal should be the national hero of the Philippines because he was a brilliant writer and poet. He was able to speak several languages and highly skilled. He was able to use his intelligence to set forth his beliefs and opinions clearly. As such, he was able to show his countrymen and the world what the Filipino could be capable of. By becoming a novelist, engineer, writer etc Rizal showed that there was no limit to the ability of the Filipino.

I don't agree in your opinion. I think Andres Bonifacio should be our nation hero. wanna know why? simply because Andres Bonifacio is the face of the masses. Unlike Dr. Rizal,Bonifacio used his physical Strength and ability to fought the Spaniards and that's what makes him more Heroic. ANDRES BONIFACIO A TRUE FACE OF A HERO. :)

Rizal because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. He used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos unlike Bonifacio and Aguinaldo who wanted a bloody revolution. He dedicated his life without hesitation for his countrymen.

I agree on what I've read .. Jose Rizal is more deserving to be our national hero. Well? base on his nobles he just use it as a instrument to awakened filipinos of what spaniard did to use. :)
