IF WE WERE to choose only ONE national hero who is best fitting to be regarded as ‘THE’ Philippine national hero, who would it be among the following? Would it be ...
To see how our MODERN E-Learning Reviewers work, please try this 5-item sample:

JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)

He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. (Read: Jose Rizal's Contribution)

As a political figure, José Rizal was the founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan. He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, and would only support "violent means" as a last resort. (Wikipedia)

ANDRÉS BONIFACIO y de Castro (30 November 1863 – 10 May 1897)

He was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary. He is often called "the father of the Philippine Revolution". Bonifacio was a founder and later Supremo ("supreme leader") of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Philippine Revolution.

He is considered a de facto national hero of the Philippines, and is also considered by some Filipino historians to be the first President, but he is not officially recognized as such. (Wikipedia)

EMILIO AGUINALDO y Famy (22 March 1869 – 6 February 1964)

He was a Filipino general, politician, and independence leader. He had an instrumental role during the Philippines' revolution against Spain, and the subsequent Philippine–American War or War of Philippine Independence that resisted American occupation ... (continue reading)

Aguinaldo became the Philippines' first president. He was also the youngest (at age 28) to have become the country's president, the longest-lived former president (having survived to age 94) and the president to have outlived the most number of successors. (Wikipedia)

Im agree with you. Kasi si Bonifacio handa nya talagang ibuwis yung life nya for his countrymen.

I agree.

The national hero should always be Dr. Jose Rizal because I strongly believe that he had always made wise decisions.

The national hero should always be Dr. Jose Rizal because I strongly believe that he had always made wise decisions.

I chose Dr. Jose Rizal to be the national hero because he's wiser than any other leaders.

Andres Bonifacio. He is violent but it is for a good cause.

I disagree with you Ms. Gemma, if we are going to talk about Heroism, the title fits to all of them, But the National Hero of our Country must be Bonifacio for he is the one who do the trick not Rizal, then if you are saying that Rizal is the one who influenced him to fight for our freedom, then I can say that if there is no Bonifacio, their might be no man who will raise a revolution to free our country. So I'll go for Bonifacio!

For me Dr. Jose Rizal should be our national hero because he open the minds and the eyes by the use of his novels and it also served as a tool to inspire the revolutionist like Bonifacio to fight for the freedom of our country. Dr. Jose Rizal also use his knowledge and his bright mind to fought for the freedom without violent means.

I agreed on what you have said that Dr. Jose Rizal should be our national hero because he's the key to the Philippine revolution and it is all because of his novels that inspires the Filipinos.

For me, Andres Boifacio should be the Phil. NAtional Hero because he bravely fight for the freedom of Filipino physically and risk his life. He fight for full freedom of Phil. unlike on Jose Rizal's propaganda movement that is fighting to make the Phil. a part/province of spain.

Dr. Jose Rizal, because he wants to have freedom without violence as a weapon but by using his intelligence and his knowledge, he's also the major factor to the Philippine revolution because it started with his novels that open the minds of the Filipinos.

I agree with you, we might as well consider him as a national hero because he’s a multifaceted individual both through the mind and manipulative areas, not to mention his inherit character and the love to people, especially to the poor. His sensitivity to the needs of others was overwhelming as evidenced by his sincere services to the people as doctor, engineer, teacher, artist, farmer and the like. He fought through his pen, books and knowledge. He did not fight through guns and swords. With the articles he has written, of which most of the topics discussed were all about slavery and abused, he has touched lives, awakened the people, but also provoked the Spaniards thus sent him to jail. But even then, he was still fighting, not for himself or for his family, but more for his people, for us through his ideas, through poems and other written articles.

I'm convinced with his form of pakikipaglaban, tahimik lang at isa pa, he did not imply any violence through actions.

For me,I would say Dr. Jose Rizal. Because he was a prodigy and he was an intelligent and brave man. He has also emobodied a strong character. Even though Jose Rizal did not fight through fists or in an aggresive manner like Bonifacio who literally fought the Spaniards, Rizal wrote pamphlets and encouraged fellow Filipinos to stand up against the Spaniards.

For me, I would say Bonifacio. No national hero from any other country in the world sprung without putting up a fight. No real independence won without battle fought. Rizal was made hero by the Americans for some reasons; to please the Filipinos that they respect an honored Filipino kind; to impress into the minds of the filipinos that insurrection and revolution is not a virtue; that they are better off believing the benevolent assimilation than aidng the insurgents; prevent rebelious ideas to grow in the minds of the youth.

Yes i agree to you Mr. Quilingan. That Jose Rizal deserves to be our National Hero. Because he had the greatest contribution to our country, and because of him, freedom was granted to us Filipinos.

Yes! Rizal should be our national hero instead of Bonifacio.Rizal was the one who ignited the revolution, so without him, there will be no revolt. Rizal also uses the peaceful way against the Spain. It's a better way to use reform, which is peaceful and harmful into Spain and Philippines rather than a Revolution that was a harmful way that make or suffer more Filipino before getting there wanted. And it's better to use pen that hurts more on the inner part of the one who's reading than a sword or gun that has lesser effect on the person.

For me, I would say Bonifacio. No national hero from any other country in the world sprung without putting up a fight. No real independence won without battle fought.

If I will have a chance to choice who will be our national hero I choice Rizal too because his Ideas, Ability and talent will fix to become hero. He gives everything from his time to his life To help every Filipino He deserve to be our national hero

In my opinion, still Dr. Jose P. Rizal should be the Philippine National Hero. His literary woks that awaken the national consciousness and patriotism of the Filipinos. And he's an exemplary example of Filipino Values. He advocated a peaceful and adiplomatic way to speak out Spanish indifferences. Bonifacio (and Aguinaldo), on the other hand, advocated a bloody revolution, which is against the Filipino value of life.

I agreed to your statement Mr. Asaldo , that Dr. Jose Rizal is deserving as a Philippine National Hero. Because Rizal did a lot things to gain the democracy of the Philippines, but he did it in the way that no one will hurt that's why he wrote some reform against the Spanish Government.

Andres Bonifacio must be the national hero of the Philippines because he offered his life and fought against the spaniards. Being an educated man and skilled person are not the basis on how we can say he is a hero the more important is he never refuse to stop fighting to gain the independence. Bonifacio never refuse to quit even if he sacrifice his life while Rizal debated with the spaniards that he is not connected to the Katipunan. The book of Rizal is not the one who teach Bonifacio to revolt, if they not revolt the Philippines is still under colony.

Dr. Jose Rizal deserves as the National Hero of the Philippines. He use his intelligence on his works and he influence the Filipinos to revolt. On his way of writing he opened the eyes of the Filipinos to be a brave one to fight for their own independence.

For me the one who deserves as the national hero is Andres Bonifacio. Whatever hindrances and situations he remained to be a loyal and brave for his country. He never think what will happen in his life. If we think of it there is no factor that we must be an educated person first to be a hero.

Bonifacio must be the national hero, even if there is no work of Rizal Filipinos can revolt. Just for example when we are hurt we will react right? The works of Rizal is just a paper , its just an output it is not powerful enough to fight against the spaniards. His works only contains the experiences and sufferings of the Filipinos to the hands of spaniards. A hero must have an action must move not just write and write.

Rizal deserves to be our national hero. When we say hero it is not just to be brave and offer his life to gain the independence of the Philippines. Rizal considered as the national hero because he distributed his works and it is the instruments which served as the voice of the Filipinos. He stated the sufferings of the Filipinos and fight in a safe and peace way.

i am taking rizal now, and i really believe that he should be our national hero ang no one else. that time Rizal didnt engage in violence unlike bonifacio because he knows that it is the best way to help our country gain its independence. He even sacrificed his own life by going back home to the pilippines even thought he knows that he'll be killed by the Spaniards because of his novels.

i think it isnt enough reason for us to call him our national hero just because he wrote something that opened the eyes of the filipinos to fight. he wasnt here to experience the pain of being under the Spaniards unlike andres bonifacio. for me Bonifacio should be our national hero since he was originally the one to fight hand in hand against the Spaniards that time.

Rizal deserve to be our national hero but for my own opinion "andres bonifacio" Is much better to be our national hero because he work by means of war it's much working done using pen n paper. Be natural without having war we not get our freedom in hand of Spain.

I agree! i'd go with Dr. Jose Rizal, he deserves it more. His influence changed the Filipinos. He manage to bring a huge change in the Philippines without using brutal and bloody wars. He was a man of speak before act, he took thought before action.

i disagree with you si Andres Bonifacio ang aking pinili dahil mas nakipaglaban siya kesa kay Rizal na puro salita. oo, si Jose Rizal ang ating bayani dahil ang kanyang mga likha ay nagbibigay inspirasyon kay Andres sa pakikibaka. ito rin ay nagpamulat sa mamamayan. marami ngang naiambag na mga libro si Rizal ngunit kay Bonifacio naman natin mas lalong nakita ang pagod at hirap upang ipaglaban ang matamis na kalayaan.

For mr.lenard I agree with him that DR.Rizal is best to be our national hero because DR. Rizal have a good heart n super knowledgeable person that other !

i do agree with you that it should be Dr. Jose Rizal, because he managed to fight the oppressors without bloody fights and up until now his achievements influences and inspires people and because his advocacy of nationalism still remains at present

For mr.lenard I agree with him that DR.Rizal is best to be our national hero because DR. Rizal have a good heart n super knowledgeable person that other !

I disagree with you because I would prefer Andres Bonifacio as the real hero because sa kabila ng kamangmangan niya naintindihan niya kung gaano nahihirapan ang kanyang mga kababayan under spanish rules.

No, for me Andres Bonifacio should be the philippine national hero because he taught the filipino people to fight for their freedom through revolution in action with their own bolos to be free from the spaniards colonization and to have an own country as an identity..Andres Bonifacio, as a true blooded filipino, is brave in vane and indeed just to win the principle he believes that all filipino should have, for the love of his beloved country and his country men..

"Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro" AND KATIPUNA movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule. bonifacio n katipuna not rizal who gave a freedom in every filipino. without their action we not get freedom.

I believe that Aguinaldo should be our national hero, because he was the one who waved the flag and declared Philippine as an independent country on June 12, 1898 in Kawit Cavite from American colonization and was recognized in the whole world.
