JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)

He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. As a political figure, José Rizal was the founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan. He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, and would only support "violent means" as a last resort. ANDRÉS BONIFACIO y de Castro (30 November 1863 – 10 May 1897)

He was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary. He is often called "the father of the Philippine Revolution". Bonifacio was a founder and later Supremo ("supreme leader") of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Philippine Revolution.

He is considered a de facto national hero of the Philippines, and is also considered by some Filipino historians to be the first President, but he is not officially recognized as such. (Wikipedia)

EMILIO AGUINALDO y Famy (22 March 1869 – 6 February 1964)

He was a Filipino general, politician, and independence leader. He had an instrumental role during the Philippines' revolution against Spain, and the subsequent Philippine–American War or War of Philippine Independence that resisted American occupation ... (continue reading)

Aguinaldo became the Philippines' first president. He was also the youngest (at age 28) to have become the country's president, the longest-lived former president (having survived to age 94) and the president to have outlived the most number of successors. (Wikipedia)

Rizal really deserved what he has earned. He use pen instead of gun or sword to show other people that not all the time we need to be violent to save other people. He write novels that will tell all people the anomaly in our government. His novel boost the eagerness of Bonifacio to fight for our freedom because his novel awakened their mind.

I agree with you. Rizal deserved to be our national hero.He never use violence instead he use his intelligent to tell people what is happening to us. Not all the time violence will be the solution to a problem. We can think more better ways to achieve our freedom.

The best fitting to be regarded as the Philippine National Hero is Dr. Jose Rizal, because he displayed unconditional love for his country by offering his life for the freedom of Filipino's under the Spanish rule. He fought for reforms through his writings instead of through a "Violent Revolution".

I disagree with that, our national hero must be Andres Bonifacio because he fight the Spanish in his own strength unlike Rizal who just use his pen and his skills that Spanish don't get if he is just writing to comment on what's happening or is he fight in that way.

Rizal is more qualified to be our national hero because he contribute his life and good systems for freedom in our nation, and most of all, because he thinks the future generations. Though he died before we get our independence, he still deserve to be our national hero for the reason that he won the battle against the Spaniards through opening the Filipinos eyes to see the truth and give us hope.

For me i believed that Jose Rizal deserve because he scarifies his love life and his quite life.He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays and articles rather than through the use of force or aggression.

I think its Andres Bonifacio, because he is a man of action than words. He fought until he die. He struggle his life to depend the people and the country while Jose rizal fought for changes of our country not for freedom.

because he opted for a non violence reform in the government. Instead he used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos ...he fought for freedom in a silent but powerful way. He expressed his love for the Philippines through his novels, essays. Jose Rizal was an ideal candidate, favorable to the American occupiers since he was dead, and non-violent - both favorable qualities which, if emulated by Filipinos, would not threaten the American rule or change the status qua of the occupiers of Philippine islands. Others present him as a man of contradictions,He pivots between fear and hope, between faith and despair a soul that dreads the revolution although deep down desires it.

I beg to disagree with you.I think Bonifacio is the one who deserved to become our national hero.Because he fight for our freedom.Unlike Rizal who only use pen to tell other people what he want us to know.He cannot save people in writing only.We need to use sword to get our freedom.Remember the saying" Actions speak louder than words". So i choose Bonifacio.

For me, I believe that it's Dr. Jose P. Rizal best fit to be called "The Philippine National Hero". Why? Because he did everything to freed Filipino people from Spanish. Rizal opted for a non violence reform in the government. Instead he used his writings to open the eyes of the Filipinos. He dedicated his life for his countrymen without hesitation.

for me, I choose Andres Bonifacio because of his bravery and his love for his country he sacrifice his life just to commit our freedom..because of him we celebrate our Independence day.

For me, i also agree with Marilyn.

I believe that it is also Dr Jose Rizal being "The Philippine National Hero" because he was capable of revolutionizing the way the Filipino thought. He was able to stir people's inner spirit when he was about to make any speech. He is also intelligent that he was able to write novels containing all the bad doings of Spanish intruders.

Si Andres Bonifacio, he even build a movement which is the "KKK" for the Filipino to get its freedom from Spanish. He even died just to fight with the intruders for the Filipinos peace and freedom in our country.

For me, it should be Andres Bonifacio our Philipine National Hero. Bakit?

My Philippine National Hero is Emilio Aguinaldo, because he has the ability to use his wise man strategic warfare not just to go to a war that his faith on his riffle or jungle Bolo. He can manage efficiently and effectively. Emilio Aguinaldo indeed a National Hero it's because Rizal uses his brain only by writing to defend the country, and Bonifacio uses his steal hands only; and Emilio Aguinaldo can use both ability. All i Know from my past History subject is he died not from a war or execution it's from a decease or being old.

For me, Andres Bonifacio must be called "Hero" because he is the one who shows great courage which he sacrifices his own life just to fight for our country. I will also call him a warrior, a man which i admire so much for his great strength against colonialism.

For me, i still with Jose Rizal its because his work now can uses for learning like his novel it is very interesting topic that should all Filipino citizen must know. Rizal is worthy to be our National Hero, he opened the mind sets of every Filipino by using his writings not violence as always in short in diplomatic way or warfare.

For me JOSE RIZAL is the Philippine national hero because he fight for freedom in a silent but powerful way. He expressed his love to the Philippine through his novels, poems, essays and articles rather than through the use of force or aggression, fighting for reforms through his writings instead of through a revolution.

If i were to choose our National Hero the Fittest one is Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Because as a citizen in Cavite i live there with courage like Aguinaldo and his only advocacy is to stand strong in front of colonialism in that time. All credits is to Aguinaldo that he is the one leads the revolution to gain our liberty.

I agree that the Philippine National Hero is Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Because he had a big role in two colonial country the Spaniards and Americans with his strength and aim in life we got our freedom from that two colonial country and he is to brave to manage all Magdalo sector even his age is too young and the Katipunan is having a hard time to lead.

i agree with you michael that DR. Jose Rizal because He only use his knowledge and inspiration to protect us even though he know that this thing will cause him to death. He fight with all his heart to awakened those Filipino who are scared and afraid to revolt against Spanish. That's what I called a HERO.

I'm favor of Dr. Jose P. Rizal as the national hero of the Philippines. Because he fought bravely and intelligently against the Spanish government. through his intellect he wrote many books and articles to awaken the Filipinos, in fact he inspired the people to built the revolution. he is an educated man and he had the love for his own land. He is an really an icon for the youth.the very reason why i'm favor of him because the fought for the freedom of the Philippines in a silent but powerful way.

For me, Jose Rizal is the best fitting regarded as Philippine National Hero because he showed his love and bravery to his homeland. His nationalism and patriotism showed how he love his country and offer his life for the freedom from Spanish colonization.

for me Emilio Aguinaldo . He has the military tactics that's why the Katipuneros became successful. Both of them sacrifices their lives but Emilio Aguinaldo has the very big role for the independence of the country. Therefore, Emilio Aguinaldo must be the national hero.

I agree to you that Jose Rizal is our national hero because he only use his knowledge to protect us from Spanish rule knowing that doing this thing will put him to death. He fight with all his heart and full of bravery.

Andres Bonifacio should be national hero in the Philippines instead of Dr. Jose Rizal. Bonofacio used to built a revolution (KKK) on his own way which was through swords. Rizal used to be the inspiration of the KKK But it was Bonofacio who really fought the Spanish government.

I think it should really be Jose Rizal because his novels awakened the minds and hearts of the Filipino people to fight for their independence.

I agree that Rizal should be our national hero, because through many writings of Rizal, his fellow country men was encourage for the revolution for our country independence. The life of Rizal that was teached to us encourage us also to become a responsible citizen of our country in our own way, he being diplomat person is a advantage to be come our national hero that came from the fact that his talent and wit he used as a key for our nation independence.

I agree that Rizal is our national hero because his writings prove that we can be saved through using swords and revolt. His writings served as a good way to awakened the minds of the Filipino people who are afraid of the Spaniards.

For me Jose Rizal should be our Philippine National Hero because he spend all his time, effort, love to our country by writing his novels exposing the injustice we face to the hands of Spaniards. And also because of Jose Rizal we the new generation still reminiscing the life of Filipino this past decade.

Andres Bonifacio should be our national Hero. He is a brave man who wants to fight for our freedom, and he is willing to sacrifice his life for the Philippines. Supremo should be our First President and National Hero

in my opinion, Andres Bonifacio should be the proclaimed national hero of our country because he is the one who established the Katipunan-whom in the first place died of protecting our lands from the colonizers.

I beg to disagree with you because for me, Andres Bonifacio should be the national hero. Despite of his poor background, he still managed to protect and defend his country and countrymen.

I agree to Ms. Hazel Joy Cruzada, Andres Bonifacio should be our national Hero. He fights for our freedom and for the protection of our country. He is a man in action. He has the courage and determination to fight and sacrifice his life for the sake of our country.

I don't agree to your comment that Jose Rizal is the best fitting regarded as Philippine National Hero. For me, it should be Andres Bonifacio, because he is a man of action than words.

I dis agree that Rizal should be our national hero, I believe that Andres Bonifacio is our national hero, he fought for our country's freedom in the field and sacrificing his life and take the responsibility of being the leader despite of the risk that he will no chances to win. Bonifacio led the revolutionist and fight with them he is the one that inspire his fellow revolutionist to fight even if they will be killed. No independence will be celebrated if Bonifacio take lead to the country freedom.

I agree, Jose Rizal must be a national hero because he advocate the silent a non-violence revolution, or reforms. He uses his writings to open the eyes of many Filipinos. He had been the good example of a Filipino, to be wise and patient.

Dr. Jose Rizal is our national Hero. He is a role model to the Filipino youth. He is the one who opened our mind to fight for our rights and uses his mind to fight against Spaniards.

Jose Rizal should be our National Hero because he sacrificed his life for our beloved homeland. He advocate peaceful way to speak the Spaniards injustice towards us.

Jose Rizal is our national Hero, because he never use force to fight and he has a clean intention to liberate the country Philippines from the Spaniards. He also love his country and willing to fight for our freedom.

For me Andress Bonifacio should be our National Hero because he showed his brave personality and his loved to our beloved country. He also advocate bloody revolution in order for us to have our Freedom.

For me Dr. Jose Rizal is the one that should be the national hero because his the one who wrote a novel to see what Spaniard do cruelty to the Philippines. He gives braveness to inspired the Filipino people to create rebels for having freedom. He give open mind to the Filipino because of his novel.
