Who should be 'the' Philippine National Hero?

Who should be the Philippine National Hero?

IF WE WERE to choose only ONE national hero who is best fitting to be regarded as ‘THE’ Philippine national hero, who would it be among the following? Would it be ...
To see how our MODERN E-Learning Reviewers work, please try this 5-item sample:

JOSÉ Protasio RIZAL Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896)

He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He was the inspiration and thus wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896, now celebrated as Rizal Day. (Read: Jose Rizal's Contribution)

As a political figure, José Rizal was the founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan. He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, and would only support "violent means" as a last resort. (Wikipedia)

ANDRÉS BONIFACIO y de Castro (30 November 1863 – 10 May 1897)

He was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary. He is often called "the father of the Philippine Revolution". Bonifacio was a founder and later Supremo ("supreme leader") of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Philippine Revolution.

He is considered a de facto national hero of the Philippines, and is also considered by some Filipino historians to be the first President, but he is not officially recognized as such. (Wikipedia)

EMILIO AGUINALDO y Famy (22 March 1869 – 6 February 1964)

He was a Filipino general, politician, and independence leader. He had an instrumental role during the Philippines' revolution against Spain, and the subsequent Philippine–American War or War of Philippine Independence that resisted American occupation ... (continue reading)

Aguinaldo became the Philippines' first president. He was also the youngest (at age 28) to have become the country's president, the longest-lived former president (having survived to age 94) and the president to have outlived the most number of successors. (Wikipedia)

Si Jose Rizal ako.

Tangina nyo!!!!

For me, i would choose Jose Rizal as our National Hero because he give us inspirations and daylight with his intellectual skills and not acting as a brave Filipino fighting with killing opponents. He showed his bravery by his poems and letters that awakens our heart and mind that we need to have a freedom and be independent with our own country.

Dr.Jose Rizal deserved to be our national hero. It was not only because of his talent and skills but because of his love for our country. He wrote a book that lit the fire of nationalism within the Filipinos which eventually freed us from Spanish colonization. Andres Bonifacio, on the other hand, became the instrument that continued what Jose Rizal had started.

Dr. Jose Rizal. Because he did not betrayed our country, instead he use his talent in writing to fight.

My answer to Ian Jhamil A. Rodillas : I agree that Bonifacio shown and fought for the country physically but personally I believe that we could amend things in a peaceful way. Yes, words are very powerful. But it has more impact when used with actions. So para sa akin mas karapat dapat si Emilio Aguinaldo na maging pambansang bayani because of the intelligence he has. He's clever and wise enough to decide well and he was able to fought for our independence too in a manner where he used not just words or his mind and not just acts and by blood but both.

I will choose Jose Rizal because he was the founder of the La liga Filipina a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the katipunan so he’s the one who take the first step by being an eye opener and the others just follow so for that he deserves being our national hero.

Still, Dr. Jose Rizal because he is the one who established the La Liga Filipina that gave birth to Katipunan. Besides, he used a pen that fired up the nationalism of the Filipinos then.

Rizal !

I agree, because without Dr. Jose Rizal Filipinos then will not realized the too much violence of the Spaniards.

It supports the saying "Action speaks louder than words." even though Dr. J.P. Rizal considered our National Hero, we should not forget the others who contributed to make our country free from slavery of other countries.

I agree with Mr.Pillas. Dr. Jose Rizal loved his country deeply. He sacrifice his life for our country even he did'nt used guns but pen.

For me, I think Jose Rizal, because he is the one who give inspiration for the Filipinos to fight for the independence of our own country.

I would choose Dr.Jose Rizal because the way he fought is not that bloody or violent but yet very influential to the hearts of many Filipinos by his novels.

I think our national Hero should be Andres Bonifacio, for he risk his life fighting countless battles even though he always loses but with his determination he can still manage to fight with all his might.

Yes, I agree because without Jose Rizal Filipinos will not realize the too much violence of the Spaniards.

to: marwin I agree with you !

For me its Dr. Jose Rizal, Emilio Aguinaldo and Andres Bonifacio can be also our national hero but then there are things that Jose Rizal proved he is more deserving than anyone else.At that time He became our inspiration and awaken's the Filipino to make a revolution to the Spaniards for our freedom.

TAMA LANG TALAGA NA SI DR. JOSE RIZAL ANG ATING PAMBANSANG HERO BAGAMAT HINDI SIYA GUMAMIT NG DAHAS SA PAKIKIPAGLABAN SA MGA ESPANYOL, SIYA NAMAN ANG NAGING DAHILAN UPANG SUMIKLAB ANG DAMDAMIN NG MGA PILIPINO AT MAGLAKAS LOOB NA LUMABAN SA MGA DAYUHAN at KUNG HINDI DAHIL SA PAGKAMATAY NIYA WALANG REBOLUSYONG MAGAGANAP

DR. JOSE RIZAL PA RIN DAPAT NA G ATING PAMBANSANG BAYANI DAHIL SA ANG NAGING DAHILAN UPANG MAGKAROON NG REBOLUSYON AT MAPAALIS ANG MGA DAYUHAN

DR. JOSE RIZAL PA RIN DAPAT NA G ATING PAMBANSANG BAYANI DAHIL SA ANG NAGING DAHILAN UPANG MAGKAROON NG REBOLUSYON AT MAPAALIS ANG MGA DAYUHAN

For me, i'll choose Andres Bonifacio. Though he was not as excellent as Rizal, but through his actions. He fight for our country by starting the Philpine Revolution that help our country to have independence.

DR. JOSE RIZAL PA RIN DAPAT NA G ATING PAMBANSANG BAYANI DAHIL SA ANG NAGING DAHILAN UPANG MAGKAROON NG REBOLUSYON AT MAPAALIS ANG MGA DAYUHAN

Rizal became the inspiration of other hero to pursue their aim in gaining our independence. He served the country by all means.

Tugon sa sagot ni Ava Lopez: For me, if not with Bonifacio what Rizal have done would have been useless, For Bonifacio is the one who stood up and encourage our fellow Filipinos to fight for our independence. He sacrificed his life for the sake of our country.

I believe that Dr. Jose Rizal should be hailed as the Philippine's national hero, because he didn't need to use brute force to open the eyes of the Filipinos to the reality around them. And he also proved to us that we should fight for what we believe is right.

DR. JOSE RIZAL PA RIN DAPAT NA G ATING PAMBANSANG BAYANI DAHIL SA ANG NAGING DAHILAN UPANG MAGKAROON NG REBOLUSYON AT MAPAALIS ANG MGA DAYUHAN.

Tugon sa sagot ni Ava Lopez : Aguinaldo should be the one consider as a National Hero coz he's the one who led our nation to fight against several war and most specially the war of indepence who he/ we have won that's why we our now experiencing indepence

I believe that Dr. Jose Rizal is the true Philippine national hero, because he helped open the eyes of the Filipinos to the reality around them. He did this for his love to our country, he even sacrificed his life to prove it.

For me, Dr. Jose Rizal is still the best fit to be regarded as the Philippine National Hero, this is because in his 35 years of existence, his life was very-well lived, that it wasn't only for the benefit of himself or his family but also for the benefit of the Filipinos, he lived his life by learning new things, by helping others and by helping the Filipinos in not just any simple help but a help that led us to freedom. For me without Rizal, we wouldn't be as free as we are today and that it would take time for us to be free.

Tugon sa sagot ni Ava Lopez: I agree with her coz I believe that Bonifacio is the one who fought for our independence by showing to the Spaniards that We Filipinos are not afraid and will fight to death for our country.

"Para sa akin nararapat lamang na si Andres Bonifacio ang maging National Hero dahil sa kanyang taglay na katapangan. Kung hindi dahil sa kanyang katapangan at gustuhing makalaya hindi tayo magiging isang malayang bansa, maaaring si dr. Jose Rizal ang nagudyok ng rebulusyon ngunit ang gumawa ng aksyon ay si Bonifacio, kaya para sa akin nararapat lang na si bonifacio ang maging ating Pambansang Bayani."

Tugon ko sa kanilang tatlo : If not for Rizal's courage to write his books these other two heroes will not have the guts of standing up and fight for what are they believing for.
