FERDINAND EMMANUEL EDRALIN MARCOS, SR. (September 11, 1917 – September 28, 1989) was a Filipino leader and President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. He was a lawyer, member of the Philippine House of Representatives (1949–1959) and a member of the Philippine Senate (1959–1965). He was the Senate President from 1963–1965.
While in power, he implemented wide-ranging programs of infrastructure development and economic reform. IT HAS BEEN A DEBATE for more than a century, on whether our intelligence was inherited by nature or acquired through nurture. It is an argument between the Principles of Psychology and Sociology and the meticulous studies of Science. Intelligence is the capacity of our rational mind to consolidate and evaluate external stimuli by integrating sensory input with our memory and our programming.
More than a century ago, Sir Francis Galton, a scientist who began studying the role of genes in intelligence, theorized that parents transferred intelligence to their children, who in turn passed these intelligent-boosting genes down to their offspring. Science Daily, on one of their articles, said that our brain structure is considerable under genetic influence.

SOME AUTHORITIES say that people join fraternities or sororities for basically the same reasons. Gang membership is oftentimes related to the 5 basic needs that Abraham Maslow theorized: the physiological needs, the needs for safety, the need for love/belongingness, the need for self-esteem, and the need to feel that someone has the potential to reach specific goals (self-actualization). College fraternities are said to be not that different from gangs--members all want the security of being able to identify with a group and find solidarity through the group membership.

THE USE OF PHYSICAL FORCE for punishing criminals had been a practice since the ancient times; it involves the deliberate infliction of pain as retribution for an offense or for disciplining the wrongdoer by using a whip or birch to hit the buttocks, back of the thighs and calves, upper back and shoulders, soles of the feet, the hands and even the head, depending on the severity of the offense or crime.
The purpose of corporal punishment is to prevent the offense or wrongdoing from happening again by instilling or associating fear with these undesired acts.

The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) or Youth Council in the Philippines is the governing body in every chapter of the Katipunan ng Kabataan (Youth Federation). Each barangay in the Philippines is mandated by law to have its own chapter of the Katipunan ng Kabataan, aging from 15 to 18 years old who resides in their respective barangays for at least 6 months and registered in the Sangguniang Kabataan, or in the official list in the custody of the barangay secretary. It is the local youth program and projects implementation partner of the government. The Katipunan ng Kabataan members elect their officers known as Sangguniang Kabataan which serves as the local youth legislature in the village. The Sangguniang Kabataan is an off-shoot of the KB or the Kabataang Barangay (Village Youth) which was abolished when the Local Government Code of 1991 was enacted.

ALMOST EVERY MONTH we experience an increase on the electric charges in our bills. Moreover, many places in Visayas and Mindanao experience electric interruptions due to insufficiency of energy resources. In order to solve this problem, last 2009, two congressmen, namely, Rep.Mark Cojuangco and Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo, have been pushing the reopening and revival of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant through House Bill 4631. This power plant was built by our late president Ferdinand Marcos to ease the country’s problem on electric energy sources, and to lessen the burden of his countrymen in paying high cost electricity. Yet, this billion- worth project was never used nor became beneficial to us for it never took operation on the entire history, due to the opposition of different environmental groups.
