15 Tips to Get a Satisfactory Performance in Drafting

 
Drafting is a course which could bring about substantial artworks. In the Philippines (at least), is one of the specialized fields in Technology and Livelihood Education (T. L. E.) subject under the K to 12 curriculum.
 
Some students perceive this specialization as a hard subject even to those who have potentials in drawing. Hopefully, this article could change the students perception of the subject and help them to get high grades in Drafting.
 
Listed below are 15 tips to get a satisfactory performance in drafting:

1. BELIEVE IN YOUR SELF
Trust yourself. Believe in your potentials, skills, and capacity to do your assigned tasks. Overcome your fears, doubts, and confusions for they would negatively affect your performance.
           
2. BE OPTIMISTIC
Think positively. Clear all mental contaminants that cloud your mind. Have a right perspective towards the subject. Stay happy, keep smiling, and be cheerful in doing your drafting tasks.

3. BE PUNCTUAL
Report always to your class on time. Do the activities punctually. Submit your assignments and art projects on time or, if possible, even ahead of time.

4. BE ATTENTIVE  
Keenly pay attention to your teacher. Look, listen, and participate actively in class activities. Observe rules, regulations, precautions, and instructions. Keep yourself physically and mentally present.

5. BE PERSISTENT 
Honing your creative and artistic skills does not happen overnight and in a single practice. Being good in the subject requires many practices. So have the fortitude and enthusiasm to constantly practice in creating visual arts. Never ever give up.

6. BE OPEN-MINDED
Be willing to be trained. Take time to attend to art lessons and workshops. Explore and discover new techniques, medium, and trend. Be updated with the latest art forms.
           
7. BE RESPECTFUL
Show respect to your teachers and mentors, to other authorities, to your fellows, and to others’ art works. Being respectful and having good character matter in the life of a draftsman.
           
8. BE HEALTHY
Always keep your physical and spiritual self healthy and strong. Take enough rest, have proper food intake, exercise, and be prayerful. Healthy body reflects to the kind of performance you manifest.

9. BE PARTICIPATIVE
Have an active participation to class discussions as well as to bigger art organizations. Having a good social skill, especially among other art enthusiasts, is essential to further learn various techniques. Go beyond your comfort zone. Participate in extra curricular activities such as art competitions, mural paintings, and the like.
           
10. BE RESOURCEFUL
Make use of available resources rather than buying expensive and rare materials. Finding ways to economize is also developing one’s sense of creativity. Be practical and be wise to use un-expensive alternatives.

11. BE INSPIRED
Be inspired by the successful artists in the past and in the present. Be inspired also by your teacher and how he or she inspires others through arts.

12. BE FLEXIBLE
Be prepared always. Never panic. Just relax when assigned to do on- the-spot artworks, join an impromptu art contests, or when requested to assist in the preparation of school programs. Always stay dynamic, alert, and enthusiastic.
           
13. BE FAITHFUL
Have faith in your capacity and in God who grants success to those who persevere. Be thankful for the skills and blessings you have received. Never use your artistic skills for anything evil.

14. HAVE A GOOD HABIT
Be smart in managing your time, resources, and efforts. Take a constant evaluation of your progress by comparing your past and present art products. Make it a habit to endeavor for improvement.

15. BE THANKFUL
The honest appreciation and recognition from your fellows and mentors are your rewards for your efforts. Never boast. Be thankful. Be appreciative of the support of your teachers, mentors and friends.

Anything could be hard if we have a wrong view about it. Rectify your mindsets about drafting. Being open-minded may change and repair your negative view of the subject. Teachers are a big factor in having productive drafting atmosphere. There are always helpful tips which could guide us for our growth and improvement.
